Classic books have a way of sometimes staying on the shelf. The books you should read, yet you find yourself putting them at the bottom of the to be read pile.
In this book club, we will choose one author’s work to discuss, allowing you to decide whether you read Rebecca instead of Jamaica Inn or Pride & Prejudice instead of Emma. You only have to read one (although please do not worry if you do not finish in time for book club, please still join us, as you may be persuaded to read more). You do not have to buy a copy of the book from us, especially helpful if you already own a copy or a friend can loan one to you. Your ticket grants you a secured place on the evening and a place in our group WhatsApp (should you wish to join), where you can find out the latest information for bookclub. We will then discuss online how we found the book we have read, did it live up to the hype, did it delight or did it need to be put back at the bottom of the pile. This is a safe space so if you do not enjoy the book do not worry, can make for a great discussion.
For 17th April 7:30pm, we will be reading works written by Daphne Du Maurier. Her works include but are not limited to: Jamaica Inn; Rebecca; Frenchmans Creek; The Loving Spirit and many more.
